The objective of the course is to give ICT executives, managers and team-leaders a general overview of the discipline of managing ICT environments. The course focus on what those who manage ICT environments should do to ensure value delivery to the customers they serve and how to ensure that ICT is a strategic organizational resource.
The course is based on well known best-practice frameworks – these frameworks will be discussed in general, their roles, strengths and weaknesses discussed and one of these frameworks (CobiT®) will then serve as the basis for evaluating management practice and activities essential to the success of ICT organizations. Note: Although CobiT® is used as the framework for this course – this is not a CobiT® course as such. The lecturer will draw on appropriate best-practice frameworks mentioned above to augment the topic discussed.
